History remembers the Hawker Hurricane as one of the mostversatile aircraft of the Second World War, and as a great defender of Great Britain during the legendary Battle of Britain (1940). This fine silver coin pays tribute to the Hurricane as a military and aviation icon—one that was flown throughout the war by the Canadian pilots in the Royal Air Force (RAF) and Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).
This coin is the first issue of the Aircraft of the Second World War collection.
The first coin of the series, released in January 2017, depicts the Hawker Hurricane.
The second coin of the series, released in February 2017, depicts the Avro Anson.
