| Pas parfait ni indispensable, mais intéressant. | |
| La cinquième édition de Shadowrun n'est pas particulièrement mémorable. Mais, oh! Surprise! Catalyst Game Labs nous a pondu un bestiaire qui surpasse celui de la 3ième et 4ième édition. Il contient quand même les défauts que les produits de CGL des dernières années (Travail d'édition bâclé, bourrage d'erreur, couverture discutable, qualité d'impression aléatoire d'une page à l'autre)... Bref, ça sent le rush. Mais pour moi, un bestiaire, ça doit être illustré et malgré un effort pour mieux faire que les deux derniers bestiaires, c'est insuffisant à ce chapitre et comble de malheur quand il y a des créatures illustrées, leur qualité est parfois décevante. Les blocs de statistique des créatures sont facile à lire et sont complets. Mais il y a aussi des délires comme les Protosapiens ou les Technocreatures qui alourdissent l'univers (je devrais plutôt dire polluent, mais bon...). Les clins d'oeil au Paranormal Animals of North America Guide de la V1 et V2 sont très appréciés. ¨ À la fin du livre, une bonne initiative: on retrouve un index pour les pouvoirs animals, un index qui regroupe les créatures selon leur habitat et un dernier index qui regroupe non seulement les créatures de ce livre mais également les créatures publiées dans les autres livres comme le livre de base. Bref, c'est un plaisir de voir que CGL est capable de sortir du matériel intéressant même si c'est encore loin de la perfection. |
