The Loon
The reverse features a stylized portrait of two common loons in a pristine, natural setting that speaks of the majesty of Canada’s wilderness! Geometry, technology and art intersect as the entirety of the image is presented in a low poly art style, bringing together multiple polygon shapes in this depiction of an adult loon and its offspring.
This coin is the first issue of the Geometry in Art collection.
The first coin of the series, released in November 2015, depicts the Loon.
The second coin of the series, released in January 2016, depictsthe Polar Bear.
The third coin of theseries, released in March 2016, depicts the Caribou.
The fourth coin of the series, released in May 2016, depicts the Beaver.
