Serene scene

The reverse features an outdoorsman and his dog camping on a rocky island in Ontario’s Georgian Bay Islands National Park. The image centers around the camper and his simple campfire, dome tent, and canoe. As the s moke rises fromthe fire toward the left side of the image, the eye is drawn toward the unique landscape of this beautiful region of Ontario. The rocky, glacier - smoothed islands are dotted with grasses, lichens, mosses and the occasional wind - swept white p ine tree. Each small island is reflected in the waters of the Georgian Bay which opens onto Lake Huron. The image is framed by an outer band engraved with maple leaves.

This coin is the fourth issue of the Canoe across Canada collection.
