Splendid Surroundings

The reverse features an outdoorsman and his dog navigating the rapids in British Columbia's Fraser River. The image centers around the man and his husky, who are viewed from the front. The man paddles on the right sideof the canoe while the dog leans toward the right. In the foreground,a rainbow trout has leapt out of the water just in front of the canoe. The churning river is flanked on both sides by a rocky shoreline giving way to rising mountainsides of coniferous forest.

This coin is the second issue of the Canoe across Canada collection.
