La mise en scène est toujours frappante avec ce manga et l'affrontement fratricide entre Raoh et Toki dans ce tome en est un exemple des plus émouvants. Du côté de Kenshiro, le mythe du héros invincible et inatteignable s'écroule peu à peu et il va devoir apprendre à changer sa tristesse en colère s'il veut espérer vaincre ses nouveaux ennemis. Les codes du voyage initiatique sont déjà là... « Chaque fois qu'il a dû surmonter sa tristesse, Ken est devenu plus fort. »
