Pandemic: On the Brink includes new event cards, new role cards, rules for five players, and optional game challenges to increase the difficulty of the Pandemic base game. These new challenges, which can be used individually or combined for even more difficult play, are as follows:

| The next thing that On the Brink gives you are new ways of playing the game. There are three new game modes, some of which can be played together. In the first game mode (the one that we played), you replace the Epidemic cards with special new Epidemic cards, and you identify one of the diseases as the "Virulent Strain". This was very enjoyable, and still stayed with the theme of Pandemic, which to me is a positive. The next mode allows for a "Mutating Strand", which, again would add difficulty and complexity but would still stay with the normal Pandemic theme. | |

| On the Brink - Encore plus de difficultés! | |
| Comme aucun jeu n'est parfait, je ne donnerai pas un 5 étoiles, mais je vais donner un soliiiiiiiide 4.5 étoiles. Le concept de l'expansion n'a rien de révolutionnaire, mais celui-ci rajoute un fort niveau de difficulté au jeu de pandémie de base. Si vous avez l'habitude de réussir le jeu de base de pandémie au plus difficile à presque toutes les parties (ou simplement à toutes les parties) à un point où le jeu est devenant lassant, je vous conseil cet expansion. Le défi supplémentaire redonnera un second souffle à votre vieux jeu et vous donnera le goût de rejouer plusieurs parties. |
