King of the Maples

The Bigleaf is one of the largest and fastest-growing maple trees in Canada. Reachingheights of up to thirty metres, this elegant specimen is well named. Its shiny, drak green, five-lobed leaves measure up to thirty centimetres across--by far the largest leaves of any maple in Canada.

This coin is the fourth issue of the Crystal raindrop collection.
The first coin of the series, released in 2008, depicts the Summer Maple Leaf.
The second coin of the series, released in 2009, depicts the Autumn Maple Leaf.
The third coin of the series, released in 2010, depicts the Maple Leaf and its Samaras.
