King Georges VI
The reverse of the coin shows the uncrowned effigy of King Georges VI that appeared on several Canadian denominations from 1937 to 1952. The effigy itself is in ultra-high relief which is reminiscent of ancient medallic art. Slight inconsistencies in the quality of the surface ar normal for this ultra-high relief process.
This coin is the fourth issue of the Vignettes of Royalty collection.
The first coin of the series, released in 2008, depicts the Queen Victoria.
The second coin of the series, released in 2008, depicts the King Edward VII.
The third coin of the series, released in 2008, depicts the King Georges V.
The fourth coin of the series, released in 2009, depicts the King Georges VI.
The fifth coin of the series, released in 2009, depicts the Queen ElizabethII.
