| Kamau Wangengi plus connu sous le nom de Jomo Kenyatta né à Gatundu le 20 octobre 1894 et mort à Mombasa le 22 août 1978. Ce billet a été émis le 1er juillet 1978 quelques jours avant sa mort. Militant indépendantiste, proche du parti communiste de Grande-Bretagne, il étudia en URSS. Il prendra plus tard ses distances avec le communisme. Il devient le premier président de la République du Kenya en 1964. Il laissera un pays en paix. Avec le temps son image s'effritera, perçu comme un despote et complice des anciennes puissances coloniales. Au verso un village Kenyan et des champs cultivées. En arrière-plan le mont Kenya. | |
